Use of Information
The Finnish Ministry of Finance (VM) has published the Strategy of the Government's Information Services 2008-2010: Integrated use of information and competence. The 39 page report (References: ISBN: 978-951-804-846-9, ISSN: 1459-3394) is available in Finnish and Swedish. The announcement states:
“The vision of the Government’s information services for 2015 is as follows:
- Integrated use of information and competence.
- All information required by Government, the general public and other customers and stakeholders can be accessed quickly and reliably in an adequate format.
Measures to improve integrated use of information are to
- jointly create and update an information and information system architecture in collaboration with the Information Management Unit,
- formulate common practices for services and information systems,
- set up a metadata service in Government,
- develop common search engines,
- analyze need for helpdesk services,
- promote joint use of library services and their information content, and
- enhance Government publication services and publication processes in collaboration with publications personnel.”
