UK Survey: Do More Work on Open PSI
People are interested mostly in information and data that can better inform their personal decisions. Education, financial services and health care are the three most interesting areas, in that order.
At the same time there is also a big trust gap that may close over time. Two-thirds to three-quarters of respondents say they do not believe they have sufficient access to government data about themselves or public sector data. At the same time of what is available two-thirds indicate they don't see real value yet for them, with a majority not trusting the accuracy of the data that is available.
This shows a lot of untapped potential for PSI re-use and open government data. On the government side in terms of providing information about provenance and accuracy with data sets, and easy access tools to help explore available information. On the re-use side for showing and building novel uses for PSI that create value for citizens.
