During two days a workshop was held at the Informatics Forum in Edinburgh on 3-4th May 2011, for those who administer open data catalogues. Looking at improving the interoperability of European data catalogues as well as making it easier for them to be federated into other projects, such as opendatasearch.org and publicdata.eu.

Three key outputs have been realized:

• The documentation of best practices out of the current catalogue projects
• A mechanism to harvest metadata
• Collaboration on datacatalog.org, maintaining a list of catalogues.
