Sweden updates on infringement notice!

Brussels: 5 July 2009

The European Public Sector Information Platform has the latest collation of legal status reports on the PSI transposition that appear in the latest set of Commission ePractice.eu eGov Fact Sheets.

The European Commission has placed notice on three European Union Member States – Italy, Poland and Sweden that an infringement action will be taken if the Member State does not transpose and implement the PSI re-use Directive correctly. The action on Poland has been stepped up. Italy has asked for an extra two months to respond to the Commission! (as reported at the twelfth PSI Group meeting held in Luxembourg on the 12th June 2009.)

Out of the three Member States on notice only Sweden has updated the eGov fact sheet to include a statement on the actions underway in Sweden to respond to the Commission notice on ensuring the PSI re-use Directive is transposed and implemented correctly within Sweden

As reported in February 2009 it is noticeable that a number of the eGov fact Sheets still have out of date information contained within them related to the transposition and implementation of the Directive 2003/98/EC even though all European Union Member States have transposed the directive and notified the Commission!

The collation of the PSI Directive relate statements copied from each eGov country Fact sheet maybe found in the document - PSI Country Status reports (IADBC & ePractice.eu) dated July 2009
