The State of Open Data in France
French NGO LiberTIC has published the fourth version of a map showing the state of open data in France.
Citing growth both in the number of official open data initiatives as well as in civic movements, LiberTIC concludes open data initiatives now are visible on all levels of government. Local, departmental, regional, and national initiatives can be found across France. Some concern however is voiced over the use of the term 'open data' where in fact the proposed steps are not conform the definition of the term, causing some dilution in the meaning of 'open'. In the map depicted above all initiatives are shown, regardless of how well those initiatives fit with the 'open data' definition.
