Spain sets an example

Madrid: 19 December 2008

The Proyecto Aporta during December 2008 launched the embryonic Spanish online information service dedicated to the re-use of public sector information. The information service will assist with the promotion the re-use of public sector information in Spain, Spanish speaking nations and communities elsewhere in the world as well as setting an example to other European Member States that have not yet brought online an information portal dedicated to the re-use of public sector information and the economic benefits this brings.

A multi-media presentation is also under development.

As 2009 is the European Year of Creativity and Innovation with the slogan “Imagine. Create. Innovate” perhaps many more European Member States will be creative and innovative with respect to the way that they promote the re-use of public sector information through the provision of an online information portal such as the examples from Belgium, France, Germany, Ireland, Slovenia, Spain, and the UK! At the European Union level the European Commissions PSI Information portal.

In some countries the re-use of public sector information is provided by a non governmental body such as in the Czech Republi with PSI Watch.

How are these all linked - wellat the current time via ePSIplus! (Links page and elsewhere on the ePSIplus one sop shop to public sector information)
