PSI: Where do we stand?
The UK Advisory Panel on Public Sector Information (APPSI) held its fifth annual seminar on 9 December 2008. The event was hosted by the Oxford Internet Institute.
The first presentation of the day titled: PSI in the EU: where do we stand? was presented by Mr Javier Hernández-Ros, Head of Unit, Access to Information, DG Information Society & Media, European Commission.
The presentation sets out the key role of Member States when implementing the Directive 2003/98 on the re-use of public sector information and ALSO the actions stakeholders including APPSI can take to add to the actions that Member States should be taking to ensure the objective of the public sector information re-use framework meets its intended objective.
The European Union Member States that were identified in the presentation as taking proactive actions with respect to implementing the Directive included:

- Slovenia
- United Kingdom
