Ordnance Survey consultation + 7 weeks!

UK: 9 February 2010

On the 23rd December 2009 the UK Department for the Communities and Local Government (DCLG) initiated a consultation on the proposals for the provision of free data from the Ordnance Survey. The consultation closes on the 17th March 2010. Two documents were published as part of the consultation:

  1. The consultation document titled: Policy options for geographic information from Ordnance Survey Consultation. ISBN: 978 1 4098 2100 7. Date: December 2009. Pages: 91.
  2. An Impact Assessment titled: Policy options for geographic information from Ordnance Survey – Consultation - Impact Assessment, ISBN: 978 1 4098 2125 0, 28 pages.

The UK Advisory Panel for Public Sector Information (APPSI) will be considering the APPSI response at the next APPSI meeting that takes place in London on the 17th February 2010. As part of the process APPSI published on the 20th January 2010 an invitation titled: What are your views on the Ordnance Survey consultation? The APPSI invitation seeking evidence from Society at large is an example of good practice.

The consultation has six weeks more to run and a number of responses have been published:
