OPSI hosts EU Gazette conference

The UK London Gazette announces that the Office of Public Sector Information (OPSI) is hosting the meeting of the European Forum of Official Gazettes in London on the 10 and 11 September 2009 The forum meets annually and has a number of working groups that meet throughout the year.

The announcements states:

“A team from the London, Edinburgh and Belfast Gazettes will be present on Friday to demonstrate some of the technology now used for creation of the Official Gazettes and legislation in the United Kingdom.”

The next annual meeting of the European Forum of Official Gazettes will take place in Vilnius in 2010 and the 2011 meeting will be held in Rome.

The European Forum of Official Gazettes information platform states that:

“The European Forum of Official Gazettes was created in 2004 with the mandate to foster increased co-operation between the official gazettes of the Member States and candidate countries of the European Union. Since 2005, the Forum is open to observers from other European countries.

The Forum holds a regular meeting each year. The chair of the Forum is held by the official gazette hosting the meeting and the secretariat is provided by the EU Publications Office.”
