Open Government Seminar Hong Kong


The Hong Kong Foresight Centre is hosting a seminar on November 30th, focussing on Open Government "Innovation through Information" saying:

"Open government is now a major socio-economical issue in countries around the world. The HK Foresight Centre has been advocating the public sector information re-use since 2009 and organised a number of seminars and workshop on this topic."

The seminar will feature three speakers ,after a welcome note by the European Chamber of Commerce.
The presentations and speakers are:

  • Data.one, Hong Kong's PSI pilot. By Waltraut Ritter, Councillor of the Hong Kong Foresight Centre
  • Service innovation through PSI in Europe. by Tom Kronenburg, consultant at Zenc in the Netherlands, and part of the ePSIplatform team
  • Socio-economic potential of Open Government Data. By Cathrine Lippert, of the Danish Agency for Digitisation at the Ministry of Finance, and project manager of the Open Government Data Initiative ODIS in Denmark.

After these presentations the event will work in groups on creating ideas for PSI re-using apps in various fields, such as real-time traffic information, cultural information, geo-referenced information and environmental information.
