Open Gov Data Flow Chart Poster
Enschede, Netherlands: November 2009
In a creative and joint effort Ton Zijlstra and James Burke have made available online a downloadable and re-usable flow chart poster for the public sector with the decision making steps involved in deciding if and how it is OK to open up public data (PSI). The poster was developed during their work for the Dutch Ministry of Interior on ‘Opening up Government Data in The Netherlands’.
The poster can be downloaded as PDF (Dutch, English) to print and put up on the wall. There is a Creative Commons BY NC SA license. Also, if you want to create your own language version, get in touch with James Burke, as he can provide access to the original design files.
Ton Zijlstra and James Burke are also responsible for the Ourdata.eu website launched during the summer of 2009. Ourdata.eu gives a European overview of public government data, existing mash-ups and policy initiatives. The premise is that there are many good examples of open government data throughout Europe, but there are barriers to finding them. Ourdata.eu attempts to over come the barriers and provides pointers to the European examples.
