Madrid, 2 March 2011
The Aporta project (@proyectoaporta), Spain's national initiative promoting PSI re-use, has announced a conference to be held on June 9th 2011 in Madrid. The conference is titled "Open Data Initiatives in Spain: challenges and solutions".
From the announcement by Aporta (machine translation):
"The conference "will be held to discuss the steps taken during recent months in the field of reuse of public information to analyze the implementation of the policies of opening up data within and outside our borders, and to exchange experiences between authorities , citizens and businesses .
So, the day will address issues such as policies promoting reuse, the legal aspects of opening government data, the technical challenges in this area, new business initiatives and new channels of participation and communication-oriented social-networks between administrations, businesses and citizens.
To this end, Project Aporta with this event hopes to provide a forum for discussion and open dialogue, which can provide ideas and lines of discussion from both entrepreneurs, researchers, professionals and public managers as well as delegates from civic groups, NGOs and citizens in general."
More information on the programme, confirmed speakers and information on how to register will be provided soon at the Events-page of Aporta. Marc de Vries, of our ePSI Platform team will be one of the speakers.
