- English translation: Now the investigation! What is the market potential associated with the use of public data in Norway? Announcement: http://bit.ly/dt9Mpc #offdata
Sverre Andreas Lunde-Danbolt has also published a post on the data.norge.no blog
describing the study being commissioned (approximate English translation) (Norwegian text online).
“Now the competitive basis for an assessment of market potential associated with the use of public data has been published on Doffin, with a deadline Monday 31 August at twelve. The aim of this paper is to obtain better information about the market potential associated with the use of public data - both generally and more specifically in certain areas - as the basis for future policies and measures.
The study will consist of three parts:
An overview of the status of the work on further use in certain other countries, and brief descriptions of relevant measures for the use of public data data.gov (USA) and data.gov.uk (England).
A simplified cost benefit analysis with a socio-economic perspective of the public data made available for further use.
A quantification of the potential market for the following four types of data:
- Map data
- Property Information
- Business Directories
- Laws, Judgments and other obligations and rights information"
Full details of the tender are available on Doffin, the Norwegian national database for public procurement. The publication date is the 12 August 2010. The closing date for entries is the 31st August 2010.
