The Italian ministry for public administration and innovation has published new guidelines for Italian public administration websites. These guidelins are the result of a public consultation that ended in July 2011. The Piemonte data portal blog has some details.

The guidelines contain several items of interest to PSI re-use and open data provisioning:

  • Rules for registering a .gov.it domain name
  • A virtual space to discuss practicalities of applying the guidelines with all relevant stakeholder groups
  • Underlining the value and potential of making PSI available for re-use
  • Using open and interoperable file and data formats
  • Recommending Creative Commons licenses, or the CC compatible IODL license.
