The missing teeth!

Ljubljana: 9 May 2008

The ePSIplus Thematic Network has published the report on the third Legal thematic meeting titled Redress of PSI Re-use Disputes: The Missing Teeth? that was held in Ljubljana, Slovenia on the 9 May 2008.

The meeting concluded that apart from the UK and Slovenia that had some teeth other European Union Member States had no teeth when it came to PSI redress mechanisms and the meeting proposed a series of recommendations for addressing this situation. For example: Under European law both the European Commission and Member States have the obligation to make the Directive work (Article 10 EC Treaty) and the report provides recommendations as to what both parties should do in order to ensure that PSI redress mechanisms are real when the need to call upon them occurs.

Many of the recommendations made in the report have been incorporated in the ePSIplus Recommendations for Action that will be submitted to the European Commission by the 31 July 2008.
