Madrid PSI 2010 Meeting Published

The report on the Madrid PSI 2010 meeting jointly hosted by Project Aporta and the European Public Sector Information Platform (ePSIplatform) is online. The Report summarises themes emerging during discussions, presentations by roundtable panel speakers and includes short reports from 2 meeting participants (Greece and Lithuania).

The meeting held on the 9th June 2010 in Madrid attracted 180 participants from 12 European countries. Discussions focused on the theme of Realising the Value of Public Sector Information and was organised around four round table panels.
Participants brought to the meeting an entrepreneurial spirit combined with innovation know how, and shared ideas, experience and problems related to animating the re-use of government information for the benefit of the economy and citizens.
The discussions were candid, supportive and lively both in the meeting room and in online social networks. During the meeting, there were 650 tweets in just six hours on the Twitter communication channel - about 70 different users using the official hash tag label #PSI_VALUE. The meeting hash tag #PSI_Value was trending topic on Twitter in Spain.

19 speaker presentations by the European Commission, policy makers, companies re-using PSI, trade associations representing re-users, civil society organisations focused open government data and concepts and web developers.
Meeting participants were from throughout the European open data community and included those with considerable experience and those just starting out with fresh ideas and perspectives.
