The Locus Association released a press release entitled: “Locus Association Calls for Level Playing Field in PSI marketplace” (in response to UK Government’s 2009/2010 budget statement and also to the UK Government’s release of the (OER), which includes the outcome of the UK Government’s review of public sector bodies that operate as Trading Funds as well as the UK Government’s 2009/2010 budget statement).

The press release quotes Michael Nicholson, Locus Chairman, who comments:

“Enhancing access to Public Sector Information (PSI) for re-use - for general economic benefit and as a means of improving services to citizens - is an enduring goal of successive UK Governments but one that has proved elusive. Government had a clear opportunity to redress this situation with today’s Budget and Locus is frustrated at the Government’s failure on this count”.
