Open data developments and issues are on Italian press agenda.

Recent coverage of the issues by the Italian press hits all the right points. It is comprehensive and highlights issues, developments and problems from various perspectives: technology, business, legal and what matters for the citizens.

Ernesto Belisario, on his blog, reports about the Italian Press coverage in the Il Sole 24 ORE ‘New Insights Review on the theme of Open Government Data.

The title of Ernesto’s blog post is: ‘Liberate i dati!’ (Free the data!). In his post, Ernesto comments (approximate English translation) (Italian text online):

“On the newsstands today, 13 May 2010, you will find in Nova 24 a very interesting view on the theme of Open Government. It takes a pragmatic approach and explains why this new model of administration functioning and activities can produce benefits for citizens, business and the public sector.

The cover story is by the excellent Gigi Cogo and the centerfold is devoted to the illustration of some cases and successful applications. It includes my contribution discussing the legislative context. There is one by Nicola on participation as well as one by Matteo Brunati and Titti Cimmino on the semantic web.
