IGF5 Registration Opens

Geneva: 5 July 2010

The Internet Governance Forum (IGF) has opened the online registration for IGF5 that will be held in Vilnius, Lithuania from 14th to 17th September 2010. The preliminary schedule for the IGF5 event has also been published.

Public Sector Information will feature within the IGF5 in particular during workshop 120 titled: Public sector information online: democratic, social and economic potentials. Workshop 120 will be held on Friday the 17th September 2010 from 1130 to 1330 hours. The European Public Sector Information Platform and APORTA are the joint organisers for workshop 120.

The following bodies are involved in the presentation of workshop 120:

  1. The Spanish Aporta project
  2. The European Public Sector Information Platform
  3. The Australian auPSI information platform
  4. The KM Africa Information platform
  5. The Information Society Development Committee under the Government of the Republic if the Lithuania
  6. IT for Change
  7. Electronic Frontier Foundation

The onsite rapporteur for workshop 120 is Dr. Pauline Pollard, UK

The remote moderator for workshop 120 is Ton Zijlstra, Netherlands

All stakeholders worldwide that have an interest in public sector information are invited to:

  1. Attend and participate in workshop 120 and the IGF5 event (onsite)
  2. Participate in workshop 120 remotely via the remote moderator
  3. Actively use social media tools such as twitter during the IGF5 and in particular workshop 120 to promote public sector information and the important role that it plays in society
