Iceland merge PSIH’s
The Icelandic Parliament approved a new law on 30 May 2008 - Law No. 135 that will result in the merger of the Icelandic Meteorological Office with the hydrology unit of the National Energy Authority. The new institution will come into effect as of 1 January 2009 and will be known as the - Icelandic Meteorological Office (IMO).
The press release states (English language):
“The well known name of the Icelandic Meteorological Office, IMO, will be retained.”
