A Guide for Transportation Agencies
Getting Started with Open Data provides the how-to, why-to, and other useful resources for opening transportation and related data.
The guide "Getting Started with Open Data - A Guide for Transportation Agencies" was spearheaded by Sarah M. Kaufman, Rudin Center for Transportation Policy and Management and Robert F. Wagner, Graduate School of Public Service New York University.
The guide answers the questions that will arise during the process of opening data, such as – How do you open data, why does it need to be maintained? What potential obstacles and liabilities are there? And how does the developer community develop around the datasets released?
This guide is designed for transportation agencies: to open and maintain data, overcome potential obstacles, and create a relationship with users.
