The Toulouse metropolitan region launched a data portal on October 22nd. Starting with 31 ODbL licensed data sets.

La Communauté Urbaine du Grand Toulouse, the Toulouse metropolitan region has launched a data portal for local open government data.

After decisions by the Mayor of Toulouse on 23 September, and then the metropolitan region on 29 September, the portal was officially publicly announced on 22 October. It is the culmination of activities starting in 2010, and a project that started last spring.

The portal at the start contains 31 data sets, all under an ODbL license (Open Database License). Other organizations and communities in and around the Toulouse region are possibly joining the initiative in the near future.

With this launch Toulouse is joining a growing list of French local open data initiatives.
