Die Erste Deutsche PSI-Konferenz findet am 06.12.2007 in der IHK in Potsdam statt.

Die PSI-Richtlinie der EU wurde in Deutschland im Informationsweiterverwendungsgesetz (IWG, BGBl. I S. 2913) umgesetzt. Unter Öffentlichen Daten werden insbesondere Rechtsinformationen, Wirtschaftsinformationen, Geoinformationen sowie meteorologische Informationen verstanden, denen allen ein großes Potenzial der wirtschaftlichen Verwendung zugeschrieben wird. Es sollen neue Produkte und Dienstleistungen daraus hergestellt werden, die zum Wachstum und zur Schaffung von Arbeitsplätzen beitragen.

GEOkomm, der Verband der GeoInformationswirtschaft Berlin/Brandenburg und die IHK Potsdam veranstalten gemeinsam die Erste Deutsche PSI-Konferenz. Beispiele und Erfahrungsberichte für den Umgang mit öffentlichen Daten im Rahmen der wirtschaftlichen Nutzung werden von Experten aus Deutschland vorgetragen. Zusätzlich präsentieren Fachleute aus Griechenland, Österreich, Großbritannien und den Niederlanden die Situation als „Benchmark“ aus den Ländern der Europäischen Gemeinschaft.
