French Open Data Officials Named
Paris, 12 July 2011
(by Ton Zijlstra)
The names of the officials that will serve as the cornerstone of the realization of the French national open government data plans are now known. In each of the ministries and major public bodies one person is made responsible for its part in the execution of EtaLab plans. This means making inventory of available data and readying it for release, so it can be added to the French national data portal data.gouv.fr that will be launched by December 2011. Since June 22nd EtaLab and the coordinators in the various public bodies have been engaged in bilateral meetings to start making inventory of available data sets, and the clock is ticking to meet the end of year deadline.
