A controversial report

London: 1 July 2009

The UK Guardian Newspaper has published an article titled: Ordnance Survey redacts public data in controversial report - A controversial OS study, released in a censored version, leads to a single conclusion: the original was incomplete and fundamentally flawed

The article contains a map with countries redacted (as in the Ordnance Survey response to the Guardian Technology Free Our Data Campaign Freedom of information request), which shows that predominantly it is the English speaking world that has been redacted! As the programme for the recent Global Spatial Data Infrastructure (GSDI) association conference and the INSPIRE conference both held in Rotterdam during June 2009 shows the majority of the countries in the world map their territory!
