Austrian Open Gov Model Has Open Data As First Step
Vienna, 12 July 2011
(by Ton Zijlstra)
The Austrian governance research institute KDZ has published the first edition of an Open Government implementation model, consisting of four phases.
- Increasing data transparency
- Improving open participation
- Making open collaboration possible
- Realizing wide reaching inclusion of citizens in participation
This first edition focusses mostly on the first phase, making data available and re-usable.
The model was created in cooperation with the city of Vienna. "Open Government is the redesign of politics and governance in the spirit of a modern public management. In this implementation model Open Government Data is the first of four phases, and thus the foundation stone for Open Government."
The document is available for download and feedback is explicitly welcomed.
