Apps4Germany Taking Stock
A month after the Apps for Germany competition launched, the organizers are taking stock. The first deadline is approaching on December 15th, when participants who want to enter public data sets, or ideas for re-using public data, need to have submitted their entries.
Thus far the competition has seen 70 entries by public bodies to publish new data sets, 50 ideas for re-using public data, and already 20 applications.
The deadline for submitting applications however is still a bit further away, on February 1st 2012. With the already submitted data sets there are promising resources available for creating these applications. The German minister for the interior Dr. Hans-Peter Friedrich, will award the winning participants at the CeBIT Hannover early March 2012. Ton Zijlstra of the ePSIplatform team is one of the jury members in this competition.
