“The objective is to provide an open and participatory forum for advancing the effective use of geographic information system technologies across the domains of public health. GI Norden would like to encourage the exchange of experience and information on successful examples within various fields of using GIS in support of health. Besides, we do aim to facilitate networking among Nordic researchers and practitioners on GIS and health.”

GI Norden is short for "Geographic Information Norden" (Norden = the Nordic countries) and is a Nordic non-profit organisation within the field of geomatics. The organisation's mission is to develop, co-ordinate and promote the member organisations' conclusions concerning international and regional decisions on geographic infrastructure issues. The objectives of GI Norden are to develop the general and professional knowledge of geographic information and promote geographic information as a part of the infrastructure of the Nordic societies.
Geoforum Denmark is the Danish Association for Geographic Information and is an NGO.
The aim of Geoforum Denmark is to work nationally to promote the benefit of geographic information for the Danish society.Geoforum Denmark was formed by the start of 2001 as a result of merging three older societies. The membership is well consolidated and counts private companies, governmental organisations, municipalities and education institutions as well as private persons - all in wide range of associations with GI.
